Android Blogging Apps

The inspiration for your next great article or blog post might come at unexpected times when you happen to be at inconvenient locations. If you’re out and about town, you don’t want to lose that great idea you had just because you don’t have your laptop handy.

At times like these your smart phone is often the only option. You need to bottle that lightning when it strikes, which is why Android blogging applications are so helpful. The following handy programs are a lifesaver when you need to publish content quickly on the go.

Moby

If you maintain accounts on a wide variety of different social media platforms and update them all regularly, Moby is the app for you. Giving you the power to upload content to Youtube, WordPress, Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, and LiveJournal, it’s the Swiss Army Knife of blogging applications.

It handles text, video, and audio smoothly and seamlessly from any Android-powered device you can think of. Best of all, it’s completely free to download and use. Boasting nearly 50,000 downloads at the time of this writing, it’s quickly becoming a “must have” app for Android users who blog.

WordPress

The officially-sanctioned WordPress app for Android is great for uploading short posts on the fly for free. You can add pictures, edit drafts, and post content just like you would from home. The one drawback is the lack of a visual editor, so some HTML and CSS knowledge is a must.

Although that’s not a particularly big stumbling block for most WordPress users. While this application would be a lot more powerful on a tablet, it does the job in a pinch if you absolutely have to get your article up and running on your WordPress blog .

MyTumblr

Arguably the prettiest application in this lineup, MyTumblr gives users a lot of leeway when it comes to how they choose to post their online content from their Android phones. It’s free to download if you don’t mind a few advertisements here and there.

MyTumblr allows you to upload video and audio clips to your Tumblr-based blog or website, and it features full Twitter integration if you suddenly feel the need to tweet. Their fully-loaded dashboard gives you the experience of administering your Tumblr site from your home PC on a smart phone.

Blogger

While all the cool kids have largely migrated to self-hosted WordPress installations and Tumblr blogs, Blogger is still a force to be reckoned with and has a large number of users. The official Blogger app for Android lets users upload images, text, and more with their streamlined and intuitive user interface. Though it lacks some of the features that other blogging applications possess, it’s a quick and easy way to update your Blogger page when you need to from any locale.

With the right applications, posting content from your Android can be downright enjoyable. With so many cheap or free Android blogging apps available, you have no reason to fear mobile blogging any more.

Another great way to save money is through SIM-only plans for your Android phone. SIM-only plans allow you to cut costs by paying only for the services that you actually use and none that you don’t. Android blogging applications paired with a SIM-only cell phone plan allow you to bring your office with you and stay productive no matter where you are.

This is a guest post from Spencer Hogg who writes for the SIM Only website where great SIM only plans are found.
